Scrufty had major surgery on her mouth and throat a few years ago. She is still doing very well. I was told by the vet to give her ground turkey and scant sprinkles of Vitamin C powder, both to help her immune system stay strong. It must be working since she is really doing well - gum disease/Stomatitis has not returned. Anyone else have comments about how you help your kitties' immune systems?
Here is an interesting article about feline immune systems

I'm glad Scrufty is still doing well.
She is such a pretty cat.

I add spirulina to their soft food.
Scruffy is truly lucky to have you care for her. And such a pretty girl too.
We use Vetri-DMG. It helps boost the immune system of both the cats and dogs.
We're glad Scruffy is doing well. There seems to be contradictory information about cats and vitamin C, from the quick bit our mom was just reading. And apparently you want to stay away from it if the the cat is prone to calcium oxalate stone in the urine. Not sure if there is truth to that, though. Even vet-to-vet there is contradictory info about so much related to cat health that it often becomes very confusing for their human caretakers.
We just get a bit of flavoured probiotic sprinkled on some of our canned, because Derry's not really a canned food kitty and the mom won't let us have more than a couple of TBSPs of dry a day. Oh, and Derry's getting Cosequin to help with his bladder, though it'll also help his joints as he gets older.
Just feeding good quality food and making sure they are vaccinated is the best way to keep your cat healthy.
yes there are supplements too but these are not essential for good cat care.
I am so glad she is doing so good!
Thanks for the tip!!!!
Awww what a pretty kitty! I'm glad she is still doing well. I think L-lysine is supposed to be good for the immune system, too, but I wouldn't quote me on that. :)
Thank you for sharing good articles
