These three (from top to bottom) Scrufty, Angelina Stripe, and Panther, all started out as foster cats. We already had two indoor cats. But we have not been able to place them, so they have found a forever home with us.They all stay in a really large room in the back of our house. We built a cat run behind this room so they could get out safely for some fresh air. Sometimes they get on each others' nerves and have a few spats. But mostly they get along.
Stripe seems to be the one who instigates hissy fits the most. So I have been talking to her about her doing more to get along with the other two .. that essentially they are like her sisters, so why not try to get along better. I have heard that talking to a pet can get a message through to them on an unconscious level, even if they don't understand the words. Do any of you readers know anything about animal communication?
Have a great day everyone!!! Stay well.

I talk all the time to my two cats and to the chihuahuas also. The more you talk to them the more they understand. They recognize many words such as cookie, outside, I'll be right back , give me a kiss, lots of things.
If I say who's hungry they all come running. When I ask if they want to be brushed they run to the drawer where I keep the brushes.
Ruby and Pearlene are afraid of the noise our ironing board makes when putting it up. They recognize if you have an article of clothing in your hand and they see it, they bark and run and hide because they know there is a chance of the board going up.
Ruby is very possessive of me and when I talk on the phone she cries but the strangest thing she only does it when I am talking to my daughter on the phone.
I think are pets are so much smarter than we realize sometimes.
I know mine love it when I talk to them.
Hi Debby,
You have pretty kitties. :) I talk to my babies all the time like they can understand what I am saying because on some level, I think they do. :)

I lost your link and had a time finding it. Glad to see you're still posting. We're just really behind! Happy Halloween. :)
