Multiple Uses Cat Brushes

Three of our indoor cats love to be brushed. So we have several brushes around here.

Our cat towers, made of rug material, get lots of cat hair accumulating on them. I have discovered that it is faster and more effective to clean them with a hair brush than with a vacuum. The brush on the far right in the photo has a feature for expelling the hair from the brush when done. I use this one for the cat towers and the others for the cats since the other two are easier to use on their little bodies than the long one.

I thought some of you might enjoy this tip. But maybe many of you already do something like this!

I'd love to get comments on how any of you deals with the many challenges of cleaning up cat hair. And, for some reason, I don't feel irritated over the cat hair problem. It's the cat litter flying everywhere that feels most exasperating.

How about you?

All of you stay well!

A nice assortment of brushes! Cats need more grooming apparel than a beautician at a beauty parlor. :)

Love their kitty den! Very luxe!

I volunteer at a no-kill shelter. We use tire brushes to get fur off cat towers. You'll need a sturdy metal comb to get the fur out of the brush.

Wet hands are useful for getting hair off of materials that don't take kindly to the vacuum or the brush. Of course getting wet cat hair off your hands is another matter!

Hi Debby,

I'm sorry it's been so long since I visited. Life has been a little crazy lately.

Anyway, I agree - even though I am allergic to cats, it's not their hair that bothers me as much as the litter getting tossed everywhere. I wash my bedding a lot to try and keep the cat hair to a minimum on it. I sweep the litter up quite often in the bathroom where my babies' box is, too. I hadn't thought about using the cat brush in a different way like that, so thanks for the tip :) I wonder if it would be good to use on furniture like the couch, too?

Hugs and purrs,
Sierra, Carmine, and Milita :)

Fur flying is normal here but we never seem to get it all up! Have a happy weekend!!!

Yesterday I bought a furminator and I was amazed at the fur that came off my two. They're brushed daily but the brushes weren't doing a really good job I guess.
I find I have to vacuum and use a brush to get the fur off things.

I know what you mean about the litter flying everywhere. I will just get it cleaned up and there it goes all over the place again.
I don't have any solutions. I do try to vacuum it up in the morning and once in the evening.

Nice brushes! We three are all short haired kitties so we don't get brushed - but are petted a squillion times a day! And we have some small brushes with soft corners for that occasional time we end up in the stick bushes...

My sisfur Isabella likes to be Furminated but I hate to be combed with anything. Our mommy and daddy do a lot of vacuuming but we'll tell them about using brushes to get our furs off the cat tree!

Purrs,
Angel
