Our electric company is working on the easement behind our house, about 20 feet from where our abandoned/ferals eat in the morning. I must remember to get up earlier to feed them since the workers and their machines scare off the cats. I don't think anyone else in the neighborhood puts out food for them. Of course, since there are people who are so unkind and outright mean to animals, I'm happy that they are skiddish around strangers. If you want to read some interesting comments, Google "do loud noises bother cats". My indoor cats run from the noise of the vacuum cleaner. Most other noises don't bother them, including the VitaMix high speed blender.
How about your cats?

Oh, neither of us likes the sucky monster (vacuum), but Nicki will hang around a bit longer when it gets turned on--just not when it gets close. The occasional use of the blender of mixer doesn't seem to bother us, though.
We're glad those homeless kitties have you, bless you for taking such good care of them!
We are glad the homeless kitties get to eat inspite of disturbances. Purrs. We really hate firecrackers!
Hopefully it will be over soon. We don't like those noises either, we hide under the bed!
We always stay inside so loud outside noises do not bother us. When that loud vaccy cleanin' thingy comes out though we head for tall timber. Hugs and nose kisses
Hey,
I'm glad the kitties stay away from strangers, too. I cannot believe how cruel some people are to precious animals!
Milita is scared of the vacuum and something as simple as a pop can being opened. She's so skittish, poor thing. She says hello, by the way, she's laying right by me :)

Glad to hear the kitties get to eat before the workers arrive. Our next door neighbor is having some remodeling done and it is very noisy. My house cat is nervous and the former ferals are hanging close to the patio when they are making noise.
It is good that they are all skiddish around other humans.
