Angelina Stripe is the only one of the dozens of cats we have managed that I have domesticated myself. I know someone commented on one of my previous posts that she could not have been feral if she came to me at 1 1/2 years, rubbing against my leg. That is possibly true - I understand the reasoning there. But I know most in our neighborhood do not want to be bothered with the colony let alone try to handle them at a young age. Stripe would not let me get anywhere near her when she was younger, especially not as a kitten when I attempted to handle her. And when she came to me at 1 1/2 yrs she had some rough edges - some wild behaviors like with claws and teeth. I managed to socialize away these behaviors. So now that she is an indoor cat, she is lively and also gentle and sweet. She likes me to cuddle and pet her while she is sitting on top of a bookcase. I think she does that so she can be assured that the other kitties won't try to steal any of my attention.
I'm so touched by how she has truly and affectionately worked her way into the depths of my heart. She nuzzles, purrs, paws my face without claws, and wiggles so much that we enjoy such a love fest that neither one of us wants to stop.

All but two of mine are feral. Sometimes the wildest ones surprise you and end up being lap cats and great indoors. You can never tell.
I'm glad she has taken to being indoors so well.
She does look a lot like Faith Boomerang.
Faith's Mommy brought her to me at a few weeks old. It has taken her this long - 4 years old - to start jumping up in my lap.
She still forgets and bites my ankles at times. I can't go pick her up, she has to come to me. But she just recently started jumping on the arm of my chair, then leaning over onto me. I give her skritches and she purrs and snuggles.
She was very wild when she first came to us.
That must be so fun and rewarding to work with ferals everyday. I would love to do that.
